Neil "Milton" McPhaul

Neil “Milton” McPhaul, Sr., age 77 of Pinehurst passed away at his home on August 26, 2024.

He was born January 16, 1947 in Cumberland County, North Carolina, loving son of the late Archie Malloy McPhaul and the late Margaret Cox McPhaul. Milton retired after many years of service with the Frito-Lay Food Company. Following his retirement, he enjoyed his part time work at the Country Club of North Carolina. He also served as a member of Midway Presbyterian Church in Maxton.

Milton loved being outdoors, fishing, woodworking, along with antiquing. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing softball back in the good ole days on the Midway Presbyterian Church Softball Team. His greatest joy came from time shared with his family. Milton was a loving father, adored brother, and devoted friend who will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his adored wife of 57 years, Linda Raynor McPhaul; sister, Francis Ann McPhaul: and brother-in-law, Madison Lytch.

Milton is survived by his son, Neil M. McPhaul, Jr., of Charlotte; and daughter, Lisa M. Frazier of Bennettsville, SC; brother, Archie Malloy McPhaul, Jr., and wife, Sharon; sister, Dina M. Lytch; along with many loving extended family and friends.

Donations are requested to be made in Neil’s memory to Midway Presbyterian Church, 9115 NC Highway 130, Maxton, NC 28364.

Graveside services for Mr. and Mrs. McPhaul will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the Midway Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation following the services on Saturday in the church.
