Nancy McPeek Obituary

Nancy Clear McPeek, age 69, passed away February 28, 2026 at First Health Regional, Rockingham, NC.

Nancy was born August 18, 1956, in Highland Park, Michigan to the late Donald and Lula Clear. She was a woman who deeply loved her family, friends and dog, Clyde. She made sure to share her love with them through her words and actions.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, George Everett McPeek. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two of her sisters, Rose Marie Kerner and Lula Ann Thomas.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Ann Reese, of Gibson, NC; son, Donald McPeek, of Caney Valley, TN; sister, Linda Wilcox (Jerry Wilcox ) of Pikeville, NC; sister, Donna Smith (David Smith) of Colfax, NC; grandson, Hunter Reece, of Laurinburg, NC; brothers-in-law, Howard Kerner of Concord, NC, and Richard Thomas of Marston, NC; three aunts, Marie  Lennox, and Alice Sowles of Punta Gorda, FL, and Gloria Clear of Grand Blanc, MI. Nancy was beyond excited to learn she would be a great grandmother in June.

Nancy was a very dedicated, hardworking, and loyal employee. She worked at Ingram Watch Factory until it closed. She worked for Abbott Laboratory as a temporary employee until they moved manufacturing to Rocky Mount. Nancy worked for Moll Industries until it closed. For 10 years, she worked for Scotland County Sheriff Department as a Detention officer. Nancy moved to Freemont, NC, where she worked for Wilson Medical Center for 8 years prior to retirement.

Nancy loved to frequent garage sales, thrift stores, Good Will, and Salvation Army collecting vintage items. While thrifting, Nancy was always on the hunt for something special for her family and friends. After making a purchase for her loved one, she would call them to say “you are not going to believe what I bought you today”. She was always excited to brighten someone’s day. Nancy was loving, thoughtful, and caring to her family and friends.  

A memorial service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held at Richard Boles Funeral Service, 13640 Andrew Jackson Hwy. (Hwy 74 Bus.), Laurinburg, NC on Thursday, March 5, at 4:00pm with a time of visitation following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor Nancy by making a donation to the church she attended and loved, Pinkney Missionary Baptist Church, 3157 NC Hwy 581, North Freemont, NC 27830.
