Myra Sue Locklear McGill

Myra Sue Locklear McGill of McColl, South Carolina departed this life at the age of 71 on March 25, 2025.

She was born in Robeson County, NC on November 21, 1953, loving daughter of the late Glenn and Sarah Clark Locklear. Myra was a valued employee of the Campbell Soup Company for many years until retiring. She served as a faithful member for over fifty years at the East Laurinburg Church of God. Myra enjoyed singing, shopping trips, and her many travels to the beach. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family and the memories they shared. Myra was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will deeply be missed.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by son, Carson “Lee” McGill; brothers, Glen Stanley Locklear, Richard Edward Locklear; and sister, Nina Louise Locklear Dodson.

Left to cherish her memory is her adored husband, Freddie McGill of the home; sons, Christopher “Chris” McGill (Jessica) and Freddy McGill (Renee) each of McColl, SC; daughter, Mary Gardner (Jason) of Laurinburg; daughter-in-law, Amy Groom McGill of Maxton; sister, Glenda Sue Locklear of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Ashley McGill McKinney, Chelsea Marie McGill, Collin McGill, Terner J. McGill, Tyson Gardner, Abigail Croke, Sydney McGill, Saige McGill, and Cole Gardner; and six great-grandchildren; along with many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

The celebration of life memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025 at the East Laurinburg Church of God.  Visitation with the family will be prior to services on Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the East Laurinburg Church of God.
