Mrs. Howard Lee (Cummings) Bryant

Mrs. Howard Lee Cummings Bryant, of Laurinburg, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the age of 84. 

Mrs. Howard Lee was born on October 27, 1938 in Robeson County to the late Howard Cummings and Berter Locklear Cummings.  She loved spending time with her family and always said “come when you can” to all those she loved.   She also enjoyed fishing, cooking and working in her flower garden, was a long time member of Smithtown Church of God and retired from J.P. Stephens. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willie Bryant; brothers, Wilbert Cummings, Deanaford Cummings and sister Lela Mae Pate.

Mrs. Howard Lee is survived by her sons, Ronald Bryant (Glenda) of Laurinburg, Don Bryant (Annette) of Maxton, Dwight Dean Bryant of the home, Kermit “Ray” Bryant (Sophia) of Maxton; daughters, Darlene Deese of Maxton, Tammy Kay Bryant (Kenny Ray) of Laurinburg; brother Gilbert Cummings of NY; fourteen grandchildren including a special granddaughter Glenda Deese Godwin; twenty-one great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild and her very special friend Linda Hoyos.

There will be a time of visitation on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Smithtown Church of God in Maxton with burial following in the church cemetery.
