She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 27 years, Thomas Alvin Hudson, Jr.; son, Harold Edward Grooms, Jr (Lisa) of Rockingham, NC, daughter, Bonnie Grooms Chance (Neal) of Lewistown, PA, step-daughter, Tracy Hudson McDonald (Shawn) of Laurel Hill, NC, and step-son, Jody Hudson of Laurinburg, NC. Known in the Scotland Acres Community as “Mrs. Mildred,” she owned and operated her country store, "Mildred's Store" for over 39 years. Generations of customers would come into her store for years and years just to see this staple of the community. She loved each and every one of her customers and would not only get to know each of them, but would get to know their families. She never met a stranger and would share her love and kindness with everyone no matter race or social status.

Mildred went to her heavenly home on Sunday May 15, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. Her wake will be Tuesday, May 17, 2002 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Northview Harvest Ministries.
