Mildred Lane Caulk

In the early morning of November 5, 2024, on her 92nd birthday, our beloved Mildred Lane Caulk passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior.  A beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother who selflessly cared for others before herself now will dearly be missed by all.

Mildred was born November 5, 1932 in New York City, New York, daughter of the late Ernest and Louise Johnston Lane.  She was the loving wife of 69 years, to the late Mr. Charles “Ancel” Caulk, together raising their family in a Christ centered home.  Along with being a homemaker, Mildred worked many years as a Dietary Manager with the Scotland County School System.  She faithfully served Christ and a member of Stewartsville Baptist Church where she was involved with many church groups, especially Women’s Missionary Union.  She enjoyed being a member of the Pilot Club and the fellowship shared in the Red Hat Society.  She was also an avid reader, writer of poems to share with others, and loved working in her garden and flower beds.  Above all, Mildred loved her family and cherished their time shared together.  She shared her love and taught others to love and be kind to each other.

Along with her parents and husband, Ancel, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Caulk Barber, and son-in-law, Gary Moser.

Mildred is survived by her daughters, Faye Moser of Conway, SC, Ann Purvis and husband, Al Purvis of Bethel, NC, Susan Rifkin and husband, Stanley Rifkin of Myrtle Beach, SC, Beth Tippett and husband, Todd Tippett of Dillsburg, PA; son-in-law, Jay Barber of Laurinburg, NC; her adored seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren.  She also leaves behind a host of loving friends, including her lifelong special friend loved as a sister, Mrs. Joyce Howell, along with her devoted church family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Stewartsville Baptist Church with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park.   Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
