Michael David Salzer

Michael David Salzer of Laurinburg, NC departed this life at the age of 66 on December 15, 2024.

He was the loving son of the late Leopold Kenneth Salzer III and the late Iris Driggers Salzer, born October 9, 1958 in Albany, New York. Michael retired as a Lieutenant with the North Carolina Department of Corrections after many dedicated years. He took great pleasure in helping others as a personal protection instructor. Michael enjoyed fishing, knife collecting, and especially spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed and remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend.

Left to cherish his memory is wife, Nina Elizabeth “Beth” Grooms Salzer of the home; sons, Michael David Salzer, Jr., of Laurinburg, Joshua Brown Salzer of Southfield, MI, and Jeremy Adam Salzer of Hoffman Estate, IL; brothers, Leopold Kenneth Salzer, IV., Barry John Salzer, Christopher Nicholas Salzer; sister, Lynn F. Salzer; eight grandchildren; along with a host of loving extended family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2024 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.  Visitation will be prior to services on Friday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
