Annie “Maxine” Fields Gardner, age 72 of Hamlet passed away on January 8, 2025.
She was born December 21, 1952 in Scotland County, NC, loving daughter of the late James Malcolm Fields and the late Shirley Stone Fields. Maxine was a valued employee of Perdue Chicken working as a Lab Technician until retiring. She served as a faithful member of the East Laurinburg Church of God. Maxine enjoyed riding horses, going fishing, and cooking a delicious meal. She cherished time spent with her family and K-9 companion, Ringo and the memories they shared. Maxine will be dearly missed and remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sisters, and friend.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Sandra English, Richard Fields, Steven Fields, Deena Spaulding.
Left to rejoice in her memory is husband, David A. Gardner of the home; son, Rodney Locklear (Katrina) of Alabama; daughter, Angela L. Hodges (Chris) of Hamlet; brothers, Jimmy Fields of Laurinburg, Jeffrey “Stoney” Fields (Marie) of Laurel Hill; sister, Deborah “Debbie” Easterling of Wilmington; ten adored grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. A private interment will be at a later date.
A time of visitation will be held prior to services on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
