Mary Frances Penny Currie, loving daughter of the late Roy Cleveland Penny and Edna Aileen Wiggins Penny was born December 25, 1933. She and her family resided in Scotland County their entire lives where Frances and her late husband of 60 years, Author raised their five children. Along with being a homemaker, she worked with the Eaton / Golf Pride Corporation retiring after many years of service. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, enjoyed walking for exercise, working in her yard and especially loved going on sea cruises. Frances was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother who will truly missed. She passed away at the age of 88 on June 3, 2022.
Preceding Frances in death are her parents; husband, Arthur Duncan Currie, Jr., her daughter, Rebecca “Penny” Currie Johnston, and brother, James Penny.
She is survived by her children, son, Michael Currie (Pam) of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters, Linda C. Locklear (JW) of Laurinburg, Janice C. Singletary (Dink) of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Ann C. Hill (David) of North Myrtle Beach, SC; twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; a host of loving family, friends, and special companion Jim West.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2022 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Pastor Michael Malpass. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday beginning at 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests memorial donations to be given to New Hope Baptist Church.
