Mary Anne McCormick Baynes, age 61 of Maxton, NC departed this life after a valiant battle with cancer on February 15, 2025.
Mary was born February 21, 1963, in San Diego, CA, loving daughter of the late John McCormick and the late Anneliese Weid McCormick. Mary began her working years at Abbott Laboratories until they closed and worked at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke until retirement in early 2024. She attended Northview Harvest Ministries. Mary enjoyed helping people, crafting, and cooking delicious meals. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Nathan McCormick.
Left to cherish her memory is her adored husband of 38 years, James Baynes of the home; son, Chris Deaton and wife, Dana of Dillion, SC; daughter, Jessica Baynes, of Canton, GA; and brother, John McCormick, II of Laurinburg; along with many loving extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday, February 20,2025 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. following the visitation in the Chapel at Richard Boles Funeral Service with burial following in the McCormick Family Cemetery.
