Mary Elliot McDonald Pullen, age 87 of Laurinburg passed away Monday, March 22,2021.
Mary was born October 30, 1933 in Richmond County, daughter of the late Hosea Franklin McDonald and Lillie Mae Lomax McDonald and loving wife of 68 years to the late Paul Leroy Pullen. She worked in the Poteat hospitality business, serving the Laurinburg area for many years before retiring. Gardening and sewing were a some of her passions, as well as taking care of her cats. For many years, she was a member of the Garden Club in Laurinburg. Mary spent a lot of time enjoying her family, especially the grandchildren. She will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Roger McDonald, Jack McDonald, Earl McDonald, Pearl Bratton, Barny McDonald, Lillian Jackson, and Mabel McDonald.
Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory, son, Stephen Leroy Pullen (Deane) of Laurinburg; brother, Ivan McDonald of Cary; grandchildren, Mary Paige Pullen, Brooke Pullen Shippee (Eric), Chris Rodgers (Melisa), Joe Rodgers, great grandchildren, Jason Paul Shippee, Abgail Catherine Shippee, Krista Rodgers, Colin Rodgers (Mandy), Briana Hodge, Karlie Hodge, and a great-great grandchild, Kasen Hodge, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends will be from 11:00 a.m. until Noon, Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel, followed by a Private Graveside Committal service in Hillside Memorial Park.
