Mary Ruth (Hamilton) Parrish

Mary Ruth Hamilton Parrish, loving daughter of the late Joe and Harriett Ward Hamilton was born November 11, 1943 in Scotland County, North Carolina. She was the devoted wife to the late Hudson Parrish who preceded her in death in 1995. Mary was a devoted homemaker who lived her life loving and caring for her children and grandchildren.  Her family will always remember the wonderful cooking and many crafts she made for each of them. Mary passed away at the age of 76 on September 5, 2020.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Johnson.

Mary leaves behind her children, Lisa Parrish of the home, Cindy “Jean” Gooden of Carolina Beach, Sherry Johnson of Wilmington, Joe Parrish of Hampstead, Angie Parrish of Wilmington; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Lloyd Poole of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Chris Parrish, Amanda Grant, Tiffany Gooden, Trent Johnson, Samuel Parker and Jessica Grainger; ten great grandchildren; four nephews and special friends, Frank and Joyce Malone; along with a host of loving family.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2020 in Hillside Cemetery.  

In memory of Mary, donations may be given to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America.
