Mrs. Mary Lois Oxendine Bull, age 86 of Laurinburg entered her Heavenly home on July 26, 2023.
She was born January 22, 1937 in Scotland County, loving daughter of the late Early Oxendine and Gladys Jacobs Oxendine. A loving homemaker and devoted wife to the late James Homer Bull, she raised their family in a Christian home, while working alongside Homer in their family business, The Scotland Paint Center which serviced Scotland and surrounding counties with their construction needs for over 40 years. Mrs. Mary was the mother of her church at Charity Outreach where she served in many areas including being a devoted prayer warrior, giving of her time, often cooking for others, sending an encouraging card or silently helping those in need.
She enjoyed spending time gardening, canning and was known as “the collard pro”. Shopping was one of her favorite pastimes, especially for dolls and kitchen items. She found favor with everyone, loved her family, adored her late son, Jerry, along with her devoted friends. Known and loved by many as a Godly woman who served others, Mrs. Bull will be remembered and her legacy of loved treasured.
Along with her parents and husband, Homer, she is preceded in death by her only child, Rev. Jerry Oxendine.
Mrs. Bull leaves her devoted daughter-in-law, Dorothy Mae Oxendine of Laurinburg, NC; grandchildren, James Matthew (Jennifer) of Jacksonville, FL, Rebekah Oxendine of Laurinburg, NC, Kimberly Winburn (Bobby) of Tatum, SC, Richard Patterson, Jr., (Geneva) of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Savannah Woessner (Christopher) of Laurinburg, NC; and her adored numerous special great grandchildren. She is also survived by her special sister and caregiver, Jeanette Sheppard and sister, Gladys Locklear; brothers, Roscoe Oxendine and Nathan Oxendine; step sisters, Vivian Miller and Rose Oxendine; her loving nieces, nephews and three special friends. The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2023 at the Charity Outreach Church of God officiated by Rev. Kevin Norton. Graveside committal will follow in the Laurinburg Memorial Park.
Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the service on Sunday, beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Charity Outreach Church of God.
