Martha "Frances" Reece Locklear

On June 8, 2022, Martha “Frances” Reece Locklear, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, departed this life for her Heavenly home at the age of 75.  She was born September 28, 1946 in Scotland County, loving daughter of the late Cyrus Thomas Reece and Mary Elizabeth Locklear Reece.  She had a passion for reading and books which lead her to a career as a Librarian serving in the Scotland County School System until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church where she served as Youth Group Leader, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Director along with many other areas of the church.  Frances enjoyed cooking, family gatherings, flower gardening and visits to the beach.  Above all, sharing time with family gave her the greatest joy.  Frances was a blessing to all and she will dearly be missed.

She is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Morgan Faith Locklear.

Frances leaves behind her loving husband of 57 years, James Leonard Locklear of the home; daughters, Connie Locklear Logelin (Roger) of Raleigh, Pamela Locklear McGirt (Elton) of Laurinburg, Aneissa Locklear of Laurinburg; former son-in-law, Woody Faulk; brother, Charles Owens Reece (Ellen Woodard) of Laurinburg, and sister, Inez Harris (Dr. Horace Harris) of Dunn; her loving grandchildren, Joshua Logelin (Emily), Jordan Logelin, Harleigh Faulk, and a host of loving family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Earl Henderson.  Burial will follow the service in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.    Visitation will be prior to services on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
