Martha "Ann" Bergbauer

Mrs. Martha “Ann” Jones Bergbauer of Laurinburg, NC departed this life at the age of 86 on April 30, 2025.

She was born November 29, 1938 in Elmhurst, Illinois, adored daughter of the late Hugh D. Jones and the late Martha M. Calvert Jones. In December 1959, Ann would marry her true love, Daniel Bergbauer with whom she has shared a wonderful life of 65 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Purdue University and Master’s Degree from the University of Maryland. Ann led a fulfilling 30-year career in education as a school teacher in Prince Georges County, Maryland until retiring. She had a special talent for quilting and served as a member of the Quilting Guild and Sewing Club. Ann also enjoyed crafting, sewing, and reading a good book.  She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of having loved and known her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by son, Daniel M. Bergbauer, Jr: and her beloved sister who passed just hours before her on the same day, Charlotte M. Parkes.

Left to rejoice in her memory is her adored husband, Daniel M Bergbauer of their home at Scotia Village; grandchildren, Nika Bergbauer and Sophia Bergbauer; and her loving extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Scotia Village. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are quested to be given to Scotland Regional Hospice for Morrison Manor, Post Office Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
