Martha Williams Obituary

Martha Radford Williams, beloved grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to many passed away at the age 97 on May 4, 2023. 

Martha was one of seven children of the late George Radford and the late Mary Quick Radford born August 27, 1925 in Scotland County. She worked many years with Waverly Mills, then Campbell Soup Company where she was the very first retiree from the Maxton Plant. In her younger years, Martha enjoyed playing softball which led her to appreciate all sports.  She loved watching the Atlanta Braves play baseball and was an avid fan of the NC State Wolf Pack in all sports.  She enjoyed attending the former East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was a faithful member of many years. Martha also loved to go fishing in Cherry Gove with her family.  She loved reading her Bible and devotional book daily sharing with her family the scriptures and message. Martha will truly be missed by her devoted family and loved ones.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her only son, Charles Ronald “Ronnie” Williams, Sr., former husband, B.D. Williams; all of her siblings, William Radford, Robert Radford, Betty Beane, Myrtle Radford, Cecil Radford, Gilbert Radford; grandson, David Edward Dunn IV and great grandson, David Edward “Finn” Dunn V.

Martha is survived by daughter-in-law, Libby Williams of Ahoskie, NC; grandson, Charles Ronald “Ron” Williams Jr., of Laurinburg, NC; great grandchildren, Charles Ronald “Wood” Williams, III, and Chloe Dunn Eure (Carter); great-great grandchildren, Case Eure and Reed Eure; her many nieces, nephews and a host of loving family.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2023 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Legrand Taylor.  Burial will follow the service in Hillside Memorial Park.    The family will have a time of visitation prior to services on Monday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations are requested to be given to Scotland Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC   28353.
