Martha Easterling Boone

Martha Easterling Boone, loving daughter of the late Edgar Lee Easterling and the late Flora Brown Easterling was born June 29, 1928 in Laurel Hill, North Carolina. She graduated Valedictorian of her class of 13 from the Gibson High School. On September 12, 1951, she married the love of her life, Jesse Edward Boone together raising their family and sharing many precious years until his passing.  Along with being a homemaker, Martha worked many years with Bellsouth Telephone Company, Ingraham Watch Company and then with Abbott Laboratories until her retirement.  She served as a longtime member of the Gibson Baptist Church.   In her quiet time, she enjoyed spending time reading.  Martha was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and devoted friend to many.  She passed away at the age of 94 on the evening of May 24, 2023.  

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Priscilla Gail Boone; daughter-in-law, Alice Boone; sisters, Sadie Carlisle, Doris Ingram; brothers, Robert Easterling, Johnny Easterling; and a great-great grandson, Hunter.

She is survived by her three sons, Edgar “Ed” Alan Boone of Laurinburg, Raymond Glenn Boone of Myrtle Beach, SC, and David Wayne Boone of Seattle, WA; sister-in-law, Edna Easterling and brother-in-law, Mack Ingram both of Laurinburg, NC; grandchildren, Chris, Chad, Martha, Adam, Matthew, Lana, Talmadge, David, Tommy, Stacey, Amanda, Jesse; great grandchildren, Raven, Eon, Ellie, Oakley, Jamie, Stephen, Channing, Alyssa, I-Paul, Emily, Bella, Aubreigh, Sadie, Lena, Tory and a great-great grandchild, Scarlett Rose. Martha also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and her loving extended family.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park.  Visitation will be prior to services on Saturday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
