Marshall Ralph Stevens, age 77 of Laurinburg passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021.
Marshall was born January 2, 1944 in Scotland County, son of the late Ralph Zachary Stevens and Sadie Mae Hinson Stevens. He was the husband to the late Dorothy Haire Stevens who preceded him in death in 2020. He worked for over 20 years with Waverly Mills, later retiring from LOF/ Pilkington Glass Manufacturing. Marshall later became Mayor of East Laurinburg, serving the community for several years. He was also a member of East Laurinburg Baptist Church. Marshall will be missed as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Along with his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his son, Gary W. Stevens; sister, Mary L. Smith.
Marshall is survived by sons, Marshall Ralph Stevens, Jr. and wife Maria; Michael Ray Stevens and wife Cristina; daughter, Sarah Page Stevens; sister, Marie Stevens Beam; grandchildren, Erika Elliott, Kristina Cooper, Aaron Stevens, Bridget Hale, Mollie Stevens, Emily Stevens, Matthew Stevens, Sheena Barnett, Ryan Stevens, Shawna Stevens; great grandchildren, Jason Elliott, Bailey Cooper, Brooke Cooper, Kadence Cooper, Kamryn Cooper, Travis Cooper, Jr., Avery Elliott, Adrian, Stevens, Sarah Stevens, Emily Barnett, Ava Ward, and soon to be, Laklynn Hale, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2021 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Richard Tyson and Johnny Pruitte. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. Visitation will be prior to the service on Thursday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
