Marshall "Wayne" Grooms

Marshall “Wayne” Grooms, age 71 of Laurinburg, North Carolina passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020.

Wayne was born May 23, 1949 in Scotland County to the late Theodore Grooms and Sadie Grooms. He was also preceded in death by his brother Larry Grooms.   He proudly served in the Vietnam War with the United States Army. He was a truck driver by trade, a great musician who could play any instrument, and a talented handyman.  Wayne faithfully served as a member of the Hamlet Pentecostal Holiness Church.  He was the best family man who loved his wife, children and grandchildren.  His happiest times were playing music and sharing time with his family. 

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda Snead Grooms of the home; son, Brian Wayne Grooms of Laurinburg; and daughter, Holly Grooms Hopkins (Gary) of Hawaii; brothers, Harold Grooms (Barbara), Ronnie Grooms (Juanita), Randy Grooms (Edna); sister, Carol Adkins (Terry); his adoring grandchildren, Autumn Grooms, Ariel Grooms, Akira Hopkins and Sadie Grooms, along with a host of many nieces, nephews and loving friends.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at Woodville Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, Laurel Hill, NC.

Covid-19 mandate requires facial masks, social distancing and limited attendance at all services.
