Mark Allen Schenck

Mark Allen Schenck was born June 23, 1941 in Richmond, Indiana, a son of the late Robert Schenck and Rhea Hewitt Schenck and the husband to Bonnie Thatcher Schenck.  He retired after many years as the Senior Processing Engineer with Abbott Laboratories.  He served as a faithful member of the Lutheran Church of the Living Word.  Mark was active in his community and a faithful supporter and activist for the Scotland County Republican Party.  He enjoyed writing for the local news papers as well as woodworking and caring for his pets.   Mark passed away at the age of 80 on July 25, 2021.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Shurla S. Lunsford.

Mark leaves behind his son, Scott Allen Schenck and wife, Shally of Wake Forest, NC; daughter, Krista Schenck of Sanford, NC; a brother, Robert “Bob” Schenck (Sharon); brother-in-law, Ronald Lunsford; his grandchildren, Gene Allen Mertz Schenck and Lanah Schenck, along with a host of loving family and friends.

Funeral services to celebrate the lives of Mr. and Mrs. Schenck will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church.  A private interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be given to the Scotland County Republican Party.
