Marilyn Joy Tucker of Laurinburg departed this life at the age of 73 on March 23, 2026.
She was born in Scotland County, North Carolina August 9, 1952, loving daughter of the late William “Bill” Stephen Tucker and the late Mary Patricia Stewart Tucker. Joy took great pleasure driving for the Scotland County Area Transit System (SCATS} helping others with their transportation needs. She faithfully attended New Hope Baptist Church and the East Laurinburg Baptist Church. Joy loved volunteering with Project INASMUCH and was also an avid Bingo player. She was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, William “Stevie” Stephen Tucker, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are brothers, Phillip Tucker of Laurinburg, Glenn “Mac” McDonald Tucker (Amy) of Hamlet; and sister, Sylvia Patricia “Patsy” Coughenour (Jake) of Gibson; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Hillside Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday beginning 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
