Margaret Wilson McCormick of Laurinburg, NC, formerly of St. Pauls, NC, departed this life at the age of 98 on April 10, 2025.
She was the adored daughter of the late Joseph Worth Wilson and the late Blanche Thames Wilson, born January 1, 1927 in Edgecombe County, NC. Margaret was a graduate of Dunn High School and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She had a fulfilling career teaching Home Economics within the Cumberland and Robeson County Public School Systems until her retirement. She served as a member of the St. Pauls First Presbyterian Church of St. Pauls, NC. Margaret enjoyed playing Bridge and truly loved spending time with family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, William Daniel McCormick; daughter, Dana McCormick Fisher; step-daughter, Nancy McCormick Thompson; and brother, Joseph Worth Wilson, Jr.
Margaret is survived by son, William Daniel “Danny” McCormick, Jr., and wife, Susan of St. Pauls; step-son, Warren McCormick and wife, Judy of Tequesta, FL; grandchildren, Lindsay McCormick and Abbey McCormick Christ and husband, Billy; five step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren; along with many loving extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Scotia Village with a time of visitation following.
