Mamie Elise Cribb Farley was the youngest of five children born October 26, 1940 in Red Springs, North Carolina to the late General Washington Cribb and Lorena Smith Cribb. She married the love of her life George Farley in October 1960 and they were blessed with a loving family of two sons. During her lifetime, she has lived in Germany, Oklahoma, Florida and then Wagram where she retired after many years of service with Burlington Industries. She loved traveling with her family, gardening, reading, painting and making crafts, going to flea markets and antiquing, and especially loved her volunteer time with the Veterans Hospital. Besides her children and grandchildren, Mamie enjoyed spending time with her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and all of her extended family and friends. Mamie passed away at the age of 80 on March 25, 2021.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Gregory Clark Farley; brother, Walter Cribb; sisters, Frances “Ailene” Luther and Colleen Furr.
Mamie is survived by her husband of 60 years, George Farley of their home in Wagram; two sons, Keith Farley and wife Mary of Annapolis, MD, Ken Farley and wife Masuma of Shepherdstown, WV; her grandchildren, Zachary, Ava and Luke; a brother, Robert Cribb of Wagram along with a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials donations are requested to be given to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
