Mallory Scott Lockey was called to her Heavenly home in the late hour of June 5, 2026, at the young age of 31 after a courageous battle with cancer. She lived her life to be a blessing to all those she encountered. A loving wife, wonderful mother, precious daughter, sister and devoted friend who will profoundly be missed by all of her loved ones.
She was born September 29, 1994, in Rockingham, NC, daughter of Erin Swails Ray and Bobby Scott. She proudly earned her Bachelor Degree in Sociology at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She enjoyed her career in social work at Sandhills Alternative Academy as well as her employment with Truist Bank, Pinehurst Wealth of Pinehurst, and lastly with Sandhills Best Care.
Mallory was a child of God serving Him faithfully and treasured her membership of Multitudes Church. She always strived to help others in need. She was blessed with a talent of music which she dearly loved and shared her gift singing for others. Mallory also loved being a makeup artist, especially for brides and their bridal party. Traveling to the beach and mountains gave her much pleasure viewing the amazing splendor of God’s creations. She also enjoyed shopping, reading, playtime with her K9 pal, Tuck, and sharing a great meal with family and friends. Above all, Mallory loved her family cherishing every moment with each of them, especially her adored children, Lila and Cohen.
She is survived by her loving husband, Devin Scott Lockey and children, Lila Ruth Lockey and Cohen Scott Lockey of their home in Hamlet; her parents, Erin and Joe Ray of Laurinburg, Bobby and Hannah Scott of Rockingham; brothers, Nathan Ray of Laurinburg, Patrick Busby (Alyssa) of Rockingham; sisters, Roxie Ray Walters (Patrick) of Laurinburg, Kayla Scott and Aliyah Scott both of Rockingham. She also leaves behind a host of loving extended family and many devoted friends.
