Maggie Clark Obituary

Maggie Rabon Clark, age 90 of Scotia Village in Laurinburg passed to her Heavenly home on Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Maggie was the daughter of the late David and Effie Long Rabon born December 6, 1930 in Horry County, South Carolina.   She was the devoted wife of 68 years to the late Gilbert Clark who preceded her in death in January 2016.   She was a loving homemaker and enjoyed working in retail with Belk.  Maggie served as a Charter Member of New Hope Baptist Church.  She had a “green thumb” and loved working in her yard and flower gardens, with roses being her specialty.  She was a talented seamstress who could make anything.  She enjoyed cooking and being a member of the Young at Heart Club.  Maggie leaves a legacy of love and kindness to all of her family and everyone she knew. 

Along with her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death brother, Wilson Rabon and sister, Rutille Carroll.

Maggie leaves her children, son, Alan Clark and wife Phyllis of Laurinburg; her daughter, Linda Clark Troutman and husband, John of Laurinburg; a brother, George Rabon of Aynor, SC; her adoring grandchildren, Eric Bowyer (Rachel), Jill Baugus (Brad), Jason Clark (Katherine), Adam Clark, Maggie Clark and great grandchildren, Jonathan Bowyer, Ashton Bowyer, Olivia Baugus, Madelyn Clark, Tyler Dixon, Mary Kate Clark, and Aden Dixon.  She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and many loving friends.

Services will be conducted at graveside on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in Hillside Memorial Park officiated by Pastor Michael Malpass.  Family will receive friends following the service at graveside with social distancing and facial masks required.
