Lula Dial of Maxton, NC passed away at the age of 79 on December 25, 2024.
She was born November 22, 1945 in Scotland County, NC, daughter of the late Harvey Goins and the late Julie Mae Dial. Lula worked for many dedicated years with Mountaire Farms, formerly Lumbee Farms until retiring. She served as a member of Sandhill Community Baptist Church where she loved to worship and fellowship with her church family. Lula enjoyed going shopping, eating good food, and road trips. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. Lula will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for her heart of gold and love for others.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Ricky Bryant; sisters, James Anna Locklear, Dorothy Mae Locklear, and Carolyn Locklear; grandchildren, Little Tommy Morgan, Jacoby Morgan; and longtime companion, Henry Morgan, Sr.
Lula is survived by son, John Wayne Dial of Maxton; daughters, Vickie Dial of Pembroke, Jackie Hunt (Lonnie) of Maxton, Janice Parks of Laurel Hill; stepsons, Prescott Morgan, Henry Morgan, Jr., Tommy Morgan (Faye), and Timothy Morgan each of Laurel Hill; stepdaughters, Betty Parson (John) of Ellerbee, Debbie Jordan of Bennettsville, SC; brother, Jimmy Bryant; special sister, Dora Scott, sisters, Rhonda Maynor, Faye Locklear, Emma Jane Lowery; sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at the Sandhills Community Baptist Church, Wagram, NC. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
