Lori Ann Hunt of Maxton, NC passed away at the age of 64 on Sunday, May 10, 2026.
She was born June 3, 1961 in Scotland County, loving daughter of the late Alexander and Cleadis Locklear Scott. Lori took great pleasure in creating a welcoming, warm home for her family where they shared many wonderful memories. She enjoyed trips to the beach, sunrise services, and loved going shopping; especially the outlet shops at the beach. Lori was like a second mother to her nieces and nephews, spoiling them with lots of love, toys, and snacks. Above all, she took great pleasure in time spent with her family and loved ones. Lori was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will truly be missed.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Alex “June” Scott; sisters, Mandy Maggie Locklear, Zula “Dab” Jones, Della Locklear, Tammy Kellogg; mother-in-law, Hannah Olive Hunt; and niece, Kola Nakema Kellogg Oxendine.
Left to cherish her memory is her adored husband, Willie Hunt of the home; sons, Chad Hunt (Amy) of Maxton, Justin Hunt of the home; daughter, Kennedy Hunt of Maxton; brother, Bracey Scott (Ethel) of Maxton; sister, Rhonda Scott (Tim) of Maxton, Shirley Scott of Maxton, Freida Scott (Steve) of Rowland; Lessie Locklear of Maxton; special niece, Jackie Chavis; special friends, Rhonda Heigren, Sharon Lane; and grandchildren, Keagan Brayboy, Kamreigh Diaz Ransom, and Kayanna Warner; along with a host of loving extended family and many friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Leitch Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Thursday beginning 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
