Linda Deaton Underwood, age 71 of Laurinburg passed away to her Heavenly home Tuesday, October 27, 2020.
Linda was born January 14, 1949 in Richmond County, daughter of the late Lonnie James Deaton and Ila Mae Johnson Deaton. She was the devoted wife of 42 years to the late Holmes Underwood. She retired after 35 years of service from WestPoint Stevens and was a member of Stewartsville Baptist Church. Linda was an avid Duke fan, enjoyed reading, refinishing furniture, doing yardwork, and reading. To her family, she will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will truly be missed.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by son, William James Underwood and brother, Fairley Deaton.
Linda leaves behind her daughter, Amy Greene (Ivan); brother, Lonnie James Deaton, Jr. (Kay), all of Laurinburg; granddaughter, Kelsy Lee Underwood (Ian Burke) of Winston Salem, along with her extended family and friends.
A Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2020 in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday immediately following the service at graveside.
