Linda Harding Locklear of Chester, VA, formerly of Laurinburg, NC, departed this life at the age of 66 on February 10, 2025.
She was born on September 12, 1958 in Scotland County, the loving daughter of the late Thomas Harding and the late Eva Chavis Harding. Linda was a class of 1976 graduate from Scotland High School. She was a longtime, valued employee of DuPont working for many dedicated years until retiring. Linda had a strong work ethic working all her life even through her chemo treatments. She enjoyed concerts, going on cruises, and traveling, especially visits to her home area. Linda loved taking care of others and cherished time spent with family. She will be fondly remembered for her sweet smile, generosity, and kindness to others. Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Harding, Kathleen H. Dallas, and Peggy H. Forbis; and beloved K-9 companion.
Left to rejoice in her memory is daughter, Chasity Sessoms Bowen of Laurinburg; special daughter, Buffy Tompkins; special son, Darren Locklear; special friend, Mike Morales of the home who helped her through her treatments; brothers, Thomas Harding, Jr., Howard Harding, Pete Harding (Beatrice) all of Laurinburg; sister, Shirley H. Heverley of Washington, NC; grandchildren, Breanne Bowen, Keegan Sessoms, Taylor Locklear, Micah Stanton, Alexis Tompkins, Ethan Locklear, Lauren Tompkins; and great-grandson, Jonah Belcher; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2025 at North Laurinburg Baptist Church with burial following in the Stewartsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday at the church.
