Linda Sue (Dunavant) Greer

Linda Sue Dunavant Greer of Lumberton, NC departed this life at the age of 70 on December 10, 2025.

She was born April 29, 1955 in Washington D.C., the loving daughter of the late Floyd Charles Dunavant and the late Susanna Gregory Dunavant. Linda took great pleasure in creating a welcoming, warm home for her family where they shared many wonderful memories. She was a devoted mother who always provided love and encouragement. Linda enjoyed going on walks, shopping with QVC, and watching her stories on the television. Above all, her greatest joy came from time spent with family. Linda was an adored mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, devoted sister, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Ricky Errol Greer, Sr.; and sisters, Rose Mary Miles and Pamela Dunavant.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, James Greer (Maria) of Columbia, SC, Clinton Greer of Lumberton; daughters, Melissa Metcalf (Kevin) of Maxton, Stephanie Greer of Lumberton, Jennifer Fuller (Edward) of Fuquay-Varina, Daisy Greer of Maxton, Victoria Greer of Lumberton, Angela Greer also of Lumberton; sister, Brenda Phelps of Virginia; eighteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; along with many loving extended family and friends.

Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in the Oak Grove Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday, beginning 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
