Lillie Lowery Cooper, age 97 of Marston went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 7, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Little Mission Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Lillie was born September 21, 1922 in Hoke County, daughter of the late Talmadge Lowery and Pearlie Goins Lowery. She was the devoted wife to the late Birce Cooper. Mrs. Lillie loved serving the Lord at Little Mission Holiness Church where she was known as “Mother of the Church”. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and enjoyed working in her garden. To her family, she will be remembered as a Godly, loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will truly be missed.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her children, Myrtle, Clyde, Lois, Carl, Ruthie; sisters, Ollie Dial, Margaret Locklear, Anna Cooper; brothers, Accy Lowery, Jesse Lowery; grandchildren, Alicia, Danny Ray and great grandchildren, Serena and Noah Scott; sons-in-law, William Dial and Rodney Gale.
She is survived by her sons, Edmond (Debbie) of Wagram, Everette (Carolyn) of Laurinburg, Lester (Cathy) of Wagram, Ellis of Laurinburg, Danny (Flora) of Pembroke, Dwayne (Margie) of Marston; daughters, Carol of Pembroke, Pearlene (Steve) of Lumberton, Loretta (Kiwi) of Carthage, Belinda (Ronnie) of Dunn, daughters-in-law, Meta Cooper of Wagram, Shirley Cooper of Raeford; brothers, Buddy Lowery of Red Springs, Earl Lowery of Pembroke; sisters, Pearl Lemonds of Maxton, Gertrude Carter of Red Springs; thirty-eight grandchildren, sixty-nine great grandchildren, twenty-nine great-greatgrandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2020 at Little Mission Holiness Church.
At the request of Mrs. Lillie, ladies please do not wear pants in the church. Thank you!
