Lena Mae Deese

Lena Mae Deese, age 98 of Laurinburg passed away to her Heavenly home on January 5, 2019.

Lena Mae, a daughter of the late Siles Deese and Welthie Jones Deese was born April 13, 1920 in Scotland County.  She retired after many years from Waverly Mills. As a longtime resident of Scottish Pines, Lena was loved by the staff and many friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt who enjoyed spending time with her family.  She will be remembered for her love of helping others in need.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Earlene Oxendine; a brother, Marvin Deese and sisters, Ruby Rogerson and Clara Gray.

She leaves behind her son, Earl Deese of Laurinburg, a grandson, Tim Chavis and wife Sunmi and one great grandchild, her many nieces, nephews and a host of loving friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
