Laura Wright Stewart, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend departed this life at the age of 70 on September 8, 2024.
She was born December 10, 1953 in Marlboro County, SC, daughter of the late Everette Lee Wright and the late Eunice Cope Jacobs. On February 15, 1974, Laura married the love of her life, Joseph Larry Stewart, and together they have shared a wonderful life. She was a devoted homemaker along with working in textiles for many years with J.P. Stevens, Inc., until retiring. Laura enjoyed taking care of her dogs, crafting, knitting, and gardening in her flower beds. She loved being at home, keeping a clean home, and watching her favorite Gunsmoke on the television. Laura’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially with her three grandchildren. Laura will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by step-father, Vonnie Jacobs.
Left to cherish her memory is her adored husband of 50 years, Joseph “Larry” Stewart, Sr., of the home; son, Joseph “Joe” Larry Stewart, Jr., of Wagram; daughter, Angela Stewart Odom and husband, Jody of Wagram; sisters, Gloria Bowman of Carthage, Sandy Brayboy of McColl, SC; grandchildren, Aiden Stewart, Samantha Collard, and Ian Collard; along with a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following at Spring Hill Cemtery.
