Larry Edward Moore

Larry Edward Moore, age 74 of Laurinburg departed this life on January 7, 2025.

Born September 22, 1950 in Bennettsville, SC, Larry was the son of the late Charles Bishop and the late Mildred Louise Chavis Bishop who was lovingly raised by his grandparents, the late Floyd and Ethel Chavis. Larry was a Vietnam War Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army. He worked in the textile industry as a supervisor for many dedicated years with Champion. Larry truly loved attending church and served as a member of Hillside Freewill Baptist Church. He was an avid UNC Tarheel fan, enjoyed fishing, meeting with his early morning coffee club, and watching Scotland High School Football games. Larry also loved listening to music, singing, and cooking on the grill. He was a loving husband, father, adored grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and devoted friend who will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is wife, Darlene Sessoms Moore of the home; daughters, Tonya Clarke (Shawn Clarke), and Wendy Flowers (Greg Woodard) both of Laurinburg; brother, Chuck Bishop of Fayetteville; sister, Debbie Bishop also of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Shane Caulder (Paige), LeAnne Johnson (Robert), Brittany Flowers (Tyvon); and great-grandchildren, Keanne Caulder, Hayven Caulder, and Kole Johnson; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, aunts, special brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.  Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held prior to services on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
