Lacy Clifton Sanderson

Lacy Clifton Sanderson was born in Lumberton, North Carolina to Beverly Oxendine, and lovingly raised by his grandmother, Hattie Sanderson and grandfather, the late Vardell Sanderson.  He passed away at the age of 44 on October 22, 2025.    

Lacy resided in Pembroke, North Carolina with his wife, Hollie Sanderson of 27 years.  He loved spending time with his game foul roosters and working on small engines. He was an outgoing soul who never met a stranger and brought joy to all that knew him. Lacy was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather of six grandchildren, son, uncle, brother and nephews. He had a special bond with his co-workers at Benson Construction employed for over 20 years; along with a host of special friend/family, Bobby Lee Strickland, Cory Cummings, Jermaine Thompson, Blue, Josey Woods, and Danny along with a host of many more.

Lacy was preceded in death by sister, Rebecca Oxendine; Grandfather, Vardell Sanderson, and uncle, William Sanderson.

Left to rejoice in his memory is his wife, Hollie Sanderson of the home; daughters, Selena Renee Brooks (Jeremy) of Pembroke, Jada K. Sanderson, and Tamara J. Sanderson of Pembroke; mother, Beverly Oxendine of Pembroke; brother, David Oxendine of Pembroke; sister, April Thompson (Jermaine) of Pembroke; grandchildren, Lavanya Anderson, Novah Hunt, Tacoma Hunt, Yahnna Hunt, Lakelynn Clarke, and Brandon Carr; nephew and nieces, Destiny, TJ, Alex, Alexis, Megan, Jeremiah, Ryan, Whitney, Cody, Ciearra, and Kayla; along with a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in the Oxendine Cemetery.   Visitation will be held prior to the service on Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
