Kenneth "Stephen" Rivers

Kenneth Stephen Rivers was born October 16, 1970, loving son of the late Kemp and Phyllis Evans Rivers of Marlboro County, South Carolina.  He worked many years in security and construction management until his decline in health.   Stephen loved his music, enjoyed cooking, baking, and especially shooting sports.  His greatest loved was his family and sharing time with each of them.  After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Stephen entered his eternal rest at the age of 53 on August 9, 2024.  A wonderful husband, loving father, grandfather, brother and devoted friend who will dearly be missed. 

Stephen is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Carrole Strickland Rivers of their home in McColl, SC; daughters, Davan Nicole Rivers (Robert) of the home, and Kiley Sierra Rivers (Buster Odom) of Bennettsville, SC; brother, Michael Rivers (Shirley) of Bennettsville, SC; sister, Brenda Brooks (Tony) of Myrtle Beach, SC; his adored grandchildren, Emelia River-Loftin and Emmette Odom; best friends, Dennis and Ears; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.

The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, August 14, 2024 in the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.   Visitation with the family will follow the service at the funeral home.

The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial donations be given to the American Cancer Society Kidney Cancer Foundation to help others fighting kidney cancer.
