Kenneth "Kenny" Prince Smith

Kenneth “Kenny” Prince Smith of Gibson, NC passed away at the age of 61 on Saturday, November 18, 2023.

He was born April 7, 1962 in Scotland County, NC, son of Willie Mae West Smith and the late Bascom “Smitty” Prince Smith. Kenny worked for F.C.C. of North Carolina, LLC in Laurel Hill with over 14 years of dedicated service. He enjoyed playing dominoes, computer games, flying his drone, and racing RC Series. Kenny loved bright lights, laser shows, and his loud music. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family and friends. Kenny will truly be missed and fondly remembered as a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and co-worker.

Along with his father, he is preceded in death by a brother, George “Peanut” W. Patterson.

Left to cherish his memory are sons, Kevin Smith of Cheraw, SC, Brandon Smith of Parkersburg, WV, Cameron Smith of Rockingham, Kasey Smith of Lumberton, Randy Garris of Laurel Hill, and Alexander Gibson of Lumberton; daughters, Christina Smith of Laurel Hill, Heather Smith of Gibson, and Alyssa Smith of Lumberton; his mother, Willie Mae Smith of Laurinburg; brothers, Eugene Smith and John Wayne Smith both of Laurel Hill; sisters, Delores Strickland of St. Pauls, Joan Whitehead of Laurinburg, Jeanie Callahan of Gibson; twenty-one adored grandchildren; special companion, Peggy Wheeler; and mother of his children, Shannon Sanders; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.

The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
