Karen Holloman Gibson

In the early morning hour of April 25, 2025, our beloved Karen Holloman Gibson passed to her eternal home at the age of 77 surrounded by her loving family. 

Karen was born November 19, 1947 in Boston, Massachusetts, daughter of the late Francis Henry Holloman and Mary Louise Gallagher Holloman.  She was the loving wife to the late Jimmy Preston Gibson who preceded her in death in 2024.  Along with being a homemaker, Karen enjoyed her work as a counselor with Scotland Memorial Hospital until retirement.   She will deeply be missed by her loving family and many friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, preceding her in death is son, Matthew McCue.

Karen is survived by her sons, Marcus McCue and wife Allison of Fayetteville, NC, Kevin McCue and wife Sandra of Cameron, NC, Jimmy Junior “J.J.” Gibson and wife Rose of Raeford, NC; daughter, Lisa Gibson Coyles and husband Chris of Carthage, NC; sister, Janis Cortez and husband Rick, and niece, Kori King of Florida; grandchildren, Taylor Berdeau and husband Alex, Franklin McCue, Anna McCue, Joshua McCue and wife Ashton, Casey Barfield and wife Morgan, Whitney Camacho, Stefen McCue, Jared McCue, Olivia Collins, Kristyn Gibson, Jaylee Gibson, D.J. Broughton and wife Jacqueline; Mike Broughton and wife Emily; sixteen great grandchildren; along with a host of extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given in Karen’s memory to Scotland Regional Hospice for Morrison Manor, Post Office Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC  28353.

The family will have a time of visitation on Saturday, April 26th from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m.  and  then  on Sunday, April 27th from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Gibson Family residence of 14740 St. Johns Church Road, Gibson, NC  28343.
