Karen Essig

Karen Moss Essig of Laurinburg passed away at the age of 63 on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

She was born January 24, 1962 in Brooklyn, New York, adored daughter of the late Richard and Margaret Gyimoty Moss. Karen’s love of taking care of others led to a fulfilling career as a Registered Nurse for many devoted years. She enjoyed cooking a delicious meal or baking a delightful treat for her family and friends. Karen will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by husband, Virgil Essig of the home; son, Anthony Essig of Laurinburg; daughter, Kelly Essig also of Laurinburg; brother, Kevin Moss; and grandchildren, Tristan and Xander.
