Josie Chavis Beasley

Josie Chavis Beasley of Maxton, NC passed away at the age of 70 on January 28, 2026.

She was born December 18, 1955 in Scotland County, the loving daughter of the late Willie Albert Chavis and the late Etta Mae “Doobie” Dial Chavis. Josie was a valued employee of Nic’s Pic Kwik in Maxton, working as a manager for many devoted years. She served as a member of Whitehill Freewill Baptist Church. Josie loved animals, reading a good book, and working puzzles. Her greatest joy came from time spent with family and the memories they shared, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will dearly be missed.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Donald Chavis, Dexter Chavis, Rabon Chavis, Judy Locklear, Clyde Lowery, Marie Jarrett.

Josie is survived by her adored husband, Donald Beasley of the home; daughter, Carrie Beasley of Maxton; sister, Jackie Chavis Locklear of Maxton; grandchildren, Eryn Harris (Harley Locklear), Damion Holloway (Bailey Hunt); and great-grandchild, Payton Holloway; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026 at White Hill Freewill Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 beginning 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.
