Joseph Beeman West, Sr., age 75 of Laurinburg passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020.

Joseph was born May 4, 1944 in Griffin, Georgia, a son of the late Lorenzo Harrison West and Ruth Hinson West Todd. He worked many years as a truck driver for PTS Trucking Company in Rockingham. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and tinkering in the yard. Joseph most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will always be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, James Harrison West.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Mary “Dusty” West of the home; sons, Christopher “Brent” West (Rhonda) of Laurinburg, Michael “Brandon” West (Blossom) of Lumberton; brother, Ralph West of Wrightsville Beach; sister, Lucy Smith of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Nicholas West, Cameron West, Jackson West, Bryson West, Shelby West, Gracie West, along with his many nieces, nephews and friends.

A service to celebrate his life is being planned for a later date.
