Joseph J.\ohn Karas, Jr.

Joseph John Karas, Jr., of Laurinburg passed away at the age of 83 on October 30, 2025.

He was born December 7, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, loving son of the late Joseph John Karas, Sr., and the late Margaret Landers Karas. Joseph worked for many devoted years in retail as a meat market manager until retiring. He enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. Above all he cherished time spent with family and the memories they shared.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by daughter, Donna Gearey; and brother, Richard Karas.

Joseph is survived by wife, Billie S. Karas of the home; son, William “Tommy” Karas (Kit) of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Joey Karas, Megan Karas, Katie Gearey, Jacob Geary; great-grandchildren, Adalee Karas, Harper Minor; and extended family, Eddie Karas, Christy Karas, Corey Karas, Brooke Karas.

The family is planning a memorial service for a later date.
