Johnny Kevin Horton, age 54 of McColl, SC, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2020.
Johnny was a son of Kay Walters Lockey and Jimmy Vernon Horton, born December 5, 1965 in Laurinburg. He graduated from McColl High School with the class of 1984. He worked as an electrician in construction and loved helping others as a handyman.
He is preceded in death by great grandmother, Etta Seachrest; paternal grandparents, Charles and Bessie Horton; maternal grandparents, Gordon and Virginia Smith; aunt, Susie Dimery; brother-in-law, Jason Hopkins and step father, Jimmy Lockey.
Johnny is survived by his daughter, Margaret Elise Horton (Robert Tew) of McColl, SC; mother, Kay Lockey of McColl, SC, and father, Jimmy Horton of Florence, SC; brother, Jimmy Horton (Tamara) of Florence, SC; sisters, Donna Horton (Bobby Adams) of Laurinburg, NC, and Denise Hopkins of McColl, SC; his grandson, Emerson Cade Tew of McColl, SC; niece, Jessica Quick (Bryant) of Laurinburg; nephews, Josh Horton (Amy) of Rockingham, NC, Cooper Horton of Bennettsville, SC; great nephew, Ian Quick of Laurinburg, NC; aunt, Peggy Horton of McColl, SC; uncles, Donnie Horton (Joy) of McColl, SC, Wilson Horton (Cheri) of Murrells Inlet, SC, Charles Horton of Walterboro, SC, Will Walters (Betty) of McColl, SC, Robert Dimery of McColl, SC; a special friend, Susan Stroud of McColl, SC; along with a host of loving family and friends.
Due to COVID-19 mandates, a family graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Rogers Cemetery in McColl, SC, officiated by Rev. Jerry Springs and Pastor Donald Deal.
Viewing for extended family and friends will be from 9:00 until Noon on Saturday at the Richard Boles Funeral Service. Family will not be present during this time.
