John Robert "Bobby" Hendrix

Mr. John Robert Hendrix, known by many as “Bobby” formerly of Red Springs, NC passed away at the age of 87 on April 10, 2026.

Bobby was born August 3, 1938 in Hoke County, North Carolina, son of the late Wilmer and Eva Black Hendrix.  He is preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Joyce Cole Hendrix; and his brother, Donald Hendrix.

He enjoyed his career as a Correctional Officer with the North Carolina Department of Corrections retiring in 2000 from the Hoke County facility.  He served as a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Red Springs.

Bobby is survived by his niece, Donna Lynn Williams and husband Lee of Laurinburg, NC; step son, Mike McCoin and wife Kathy of Lumberton, NC; special great niece and nephew, Abigail Williams and Zachary Williams.

Services will be held at graveside at 3:00 p.m. in the Gardens of Faith Cemetery, Lumberton, NC.  The family will receive friends following the service at graveside.
