John "Keith" Chavis

John Keith Chavis, age 58 of Laurinburg passed away Saturday, December 21, 2024.

Keith was born April 11,1966 in Scotland County. He was the loving son of Ella Ree Chavis and the late Albert Chavis. Keith loved being outdoors and building things with his hands. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He was always willing to help paint a house, mend a roof or just about anything you needed help with. You rarely saw him with shoes on and if you did, he was sure to leave them behind. He was a man that had a sense of humor that made everyone around him laugh. He had a way to win over just about anyone’s heart. To know Keith, was to love Keith.

Keith was a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle and friend. He may not have had any biological children, but he loved all his nephews and nieces as if they were his own.

Along with his father he was proceeded in death by his wife, Lisa Lett Chavis. He leaves behind his loving mother, Ella Ree Chavis, two sisters Helen Porter (Mike) Rebecca Harris (Glenn), one brother, Al Mitchell Chavis (Pam) along with a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Dr. Michael Porter. Burial will follow in the Stewartsville Cemetery. 

A time of visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the funeral home.
