John Wayne Clark

John Wayne Clark of Bennettsville, SC, formerly of Laurinburg, NC passed away at the age of 83 on July 13, 2024.

John was born March 13,1941 to the late John William Clark and Mary Helen Brown Clark of Scotland County, NC.  He was the loving husband of 50 years to the late Dorothy “Dot” Ward Clark who passed away in 2010.  John retired after many years from Abbott Laboratories and served as a member of the Wagram Church of God prior to his illness.  He was an avid sports fan especially of the UNC Tar Heels, Scotland High School Football, Wrestling and NASCAR racing.  John adored his family and cherished time shared with each of them.

Along with his parents and wife, preceding him in death are brothers, James Beverly “JB” Clark, Bobby Clark; sisters, Reita “Faye” Pickron, Kathleen Campbell, and Linda Clark.

Surviving are his children, son, John Wayne Clark, Jr., of Bennettsville, SC; daughter, Lillian “Danette” Clark Harris (Ronnie) of Wadesboro, NC; brothers, Tommy Clark (Brenda) and Harry Nelson Clark (Betty) each of Laurinburg; sisters, Wanda Lassiter of Laurinburg, Becky Priest (Willie) of Wagram, Mary Ellen West (Dusty) of Laurinburg; six grandchildren, Randy “Bo” Davis, Jr., (Ashley), Miranda Corry (Russell), Brittany Harris Taylor, John Tyler Clark, Zachary Harris (Ralena), Caitlin Clark; twelve great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and his extended loving family.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park.   

Visitation will be on Tuesday evening, July 16th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service, and other times at the home of John Clark, Jr., 1647 Bradley Road, Bennettsville, SC 29512.
