John Wade Jackson, Jr., of Laurinburg, passed away at the age of 73 in the early morning of October 18, 2025. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will deeply be missed.
John was born April 18, 1952 in Dillon, South Carolina, son of the late John W. Jackson., Sr., and Wilma Floyd Jackson. He was a talented machinery mechanic working over 25 years with the Eaton Corporation then with Abbott Laboratories for 7 years until his retirement. John was a man who loved being outdoors. He loved playing golf, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and in his younger years, loved playing softball. Above all, he adored his family and cherished every moment shared with each of them.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Jackson.
John is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Gail Stanton Jackson of their home; his children, Jonathan Jackson and wife, Lisa of Mocksville, Kelly Jackson Outlaw and husband, Josh of Laurinburg; three adored grandchildren, Alayna Pevey, Hunter Jackson, Colton Jackson; brothers, Donnie Jackson and wife Sheila, and Ricky Jackson; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Donnie Stanton; along with nieces, nephews and many devoted friends.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, October 21, 2025 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service. A graveside service will follow on Wednesday, at 1:00 p.m. in Hillside Memorial Park officiated by Rev. David Shoemake and Rev. Lee Jackson.
The family will be receiving visitors at to other times at the home of Kelly Jackson Outlaw.
