John Howard Locklear

John Howard Locklear was born March 6, 1991 in Scotland County, son of Ronald David Locklear and Sandra Oxendine Locklear. John worked at Domtar as a technician and also with his father in the construction business. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding ATV and motorcycles. He also enjoyed computers and electronics. John had a heart of gold and loved helping and giving to others. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends and will forever be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, and wonderful friend. John passed away at the age of 30 on January 3, 2022.

John is preceded in death by grandparents, John Oxendine, Howard and Viola Locklear.

He leaves behind his special friend, Cornelia Freeman of Bennettsville, SC; parents, Ronald David Locklear and Sandra Oxendine Locklear of the home; sister, Candace Locklear of Maxton; grandmother, Ila Mae Oxendine of Pembroke; nephew, Kason David Locklear; niece, Savannah Freeman, along with his extended family and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in the Locklear family cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the funeral home.

Due to the current COVID-19 status, facial masks with social distancing are required for all services.
