John Franklin Dutch, Sr.

John Franklin Dutch of Laurinburg departed this life at the age of 79 on October 27, 2025.

He was the adored son of the late James Thomas Dutch, Sr., and the late Virginia Dare Jackson Dutch, born August 31, 1946 in Scotland County. John was a Veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a valued employee of 44 years, where he enjoyed his work in the maintenance department with L.O.F. Pilkington Glass until retiring.  John was a faithful member of Springfield Church of God when his health allowed. He loved working on classic cars and was an avid sports fan. His greatest joy came from time spent with family and the memories they shared. John was a loving husband, adored father, grandfather, devoted brother, and friend who will truly be missed.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Diane Kitchens.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 53 years, Shelia “Kay” Dutch of the home; son, John F. Dutch, Jr., of Savannah, GA; daughter, Nicole Miranda (Luis) of Fredericksburg, VA; brother, Tommy Dutch of Laurinburg; sister, Ellen Franklin (Robert) of Cherry Grove Beach, SC; and grandchild, Noelle Miranda; along with many loving extended family and friends.

A heartfelt thank you to our beloved niece, Deanna Leviner, who was not only a caretaker but also his constant companion and a special source of strength. The family would also like to thank the entire Braveheart team for their unwavering dedication and support during John's lengthy illness. 

A time of visitation will be held beginning 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Richard Boles Funeral Service. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
