John Ralph Danford, Jr.

Mr. John Ralph Danford, Jr., age 75 of Laurinburg passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.

He was born November 27, 1948 in Scotland County, NC, son of the late John Ralph Danford, Sr., and the late Mary Susan McCormick Danford. John was a proud Veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoyed his many years working with Pilkington Glass until retiring. John loved fishing, bowling, along with playing on his computer and other electronics. He especially loved driving around in his old Jeep and being an avid Duke Blue Devil Basketball fan. John cherished spending time with his family and his K-9 boys. He will be greatly missed and remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, William “Bill” Henry Danford, Robert “Bob” Danford, Robert McCormick; and sisters, Mary D. McCormick, Edna D. Taylor, Annie Mae Morton, Nancy D. Parham, Barbara Goodwin, and Mary Dodd.

Left to rejoice in his memory is his wife, Pamela Ellis Danford of the home; sons, John “Johnny” Lawrence Danford (Vanessa) of Laurinburg, Brandon Kelly Danford (Jennifer) of Florida, Christopher “Chris” Dale Danford (Lori) of Laurel Hill; daughter, Sheena Danford of Laurinburg; sister, Zelphia Johnson of Laurinburg; ten grandchildren, including special granddaughter, Hailey Scott; and six great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in the Ellis Family Cemetery in McColl, SC.

Visitation with the family will be held prior to the service on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on at the funeral home.
